My crochet pattern for these textured potholders is perfect for beginners who would like to try out post-stitches. There’s also a full video tutorial available on my YouTube channel:
MATERIALS:
* about 325m of Sport weight yarn (used in this project is “Stone Washed” by Scheepjes). You can find a variety of Sport weight yarns at LoveKnitting.
* little bit of yarn in contrasting color (optional)
* 3.5mm size crochet hook
STITCH EXPLANATIONS:
* Slip stitch (sl st)
* Chain (ch)
* Stitch (st), stitches (sts)
* Single Crochet (sc)
* Half Double Crochet (hdc)
* Double Crochet (dc)
* Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc)
* Back Post Double Crochet (bpdc)
Row 1: ch 51, dc into the 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. (49 dc)
Row 2-35: ch 2, turn, 2 hdc, *3 fpdc, 3 bpdc*, repeat ** until the last 2 sts (please note that you will be ending the sequence with 3 fpdc sts), 2 hdc.
When you’re done with row 35 you will sc across the next 3 edges. Before making the last sc st change the yarn to contrasting color (optional) and make the last sc st with new colored yarn. Then ch 20 and sc into the same st where you started the chaining from. Sc across all of the edges and sl st into the first st.
